”Seek for peace!”
Since 2007, in the third week of September, at the same time as the UNESCO Cultural Heritage Days, the Ars Sacra festival and Open Churches Days are organized. The initiative started in Budapest, became a nationwide festival and then crossed the borders of the neighboring country to promote and consolidate true cultural and sacred values: the need for beauty, good and truth.
The purpose of the festival is to bring to light the Judeo-Christian roots of European culture, the sacredness of culture, in all branches of art, promoting the ascension and spiritual unity of souls. The purpose of the Ars Sacra festival, held annually in the third week of September, offers eternal cultural values free of charge.
Six historical parishes in Sibiu have adhered to the spirit of this festival and, between September 15 and 17, 2023, sacred art will be presented to the public on the banks of Cibin.
